How Much Does a Website Cost in Brisbane?

A professional small business website in Brisbane costs between $4,500 and $8,500 + GST as a fixed-price package, and more once a shop, booking engine or members’ area is involved. Our 14-Day Website Refresh is $4,500 + GST. The Future-Proof Website Package is $8,500 + GST for the lot: strategy, a brand photoshoot, copywriting for every page, the custom website itself, SEO and AI search built in, and three months of care. A custom WordPress website starts from $4,500 + GST and up, quoted after a discovery call, because the functionality sets the price.

Here is what each price buys, what moves a quote up or down, and what the cheap option ends up costing. You can also compare the three side by side on our web design for Brisbane businesses page.

Why website quotes vary so much

Ask three Brisbane designers for a quote and you can get $800, $5,000 and $15,000 for what sounds like the same thing. It is not the same thing.

A website that brings in enquiries is made of more than a design. It needs a strategy for who it is talking to, words written for that audience, photography that looks like your business rather than a stock library, a build that loads fast on a phone, SEO and AI search set up in the foundations, measurement so you know what is working, a launch done properly and a handover so you can run it. Every one of those takes hours, and a quote that does not cover the hours cannot include the work.

So the first question to ask of any quote is not “how much?” It is “what is in it?”

What each price buys

Every website we build delivers the same five outcomes, whatever the price: it is strategic and on brand, with imagery and copy that talk to your customers; it is fast and Google loves it; SEO is built into the foundations and it is optimised to be found through AI search; it is secure from the day it launches; and it can be updated by your AI of choice. What changes between the three options is how much of the content we create and how much the site has to do.

The 14-Day Website Refresh: $4,500 + GST

This is for a business whose pages, words and images are already right, but whose website is showing its age. Google scores are poor, it is slow on a phone, and AI tools cannot make sense of it.

We rebuild your existing site of up to five pages and a blog on new foundations, with small copy and image updates included if you send them before we start. Titles, descriptions, headings and structured data are set up properly, every old page is redirected, Google Analytics and Search Console are connected, and you get a handover session. The site is live in 14 days, and your first three months of care are included.

It does not include new copywriting, new pages or photography. If you need those, the next option is the better value.

The Future-Proof Website Package: $8,500 + GST for the lot

This is for Brisbane service businesses whose work is better than their website. The price covers everything a site needs to look credible, get found and bring in enquiries, in one fixed figure with nothing added halfway through.

It includes a strategy session, a two-hour brand photoshoot with around 20 edited images, copywriting for every page, a custom website of up to 10 pages and a blog, SEO and AI search built in, launch setup, a mini brand refresh, a one-hour handover session and your first three months of care. We take two of these a month, so there is a short waitlist rather than a rush fee.

Bought as separate services, the photography and copywriting alone would be a sizeable part of that price. Bundled, they are the reason the finished site reads and looks like your business instead of a template.

A custom WordPress website: quoted after a discovery call

Some websites have to do more than present a business well. An online shop, a booking engine, a members’ area, a large product catalogue or an integration with the software you already run all add real build time, and the price follows the functionality rather than a fixed package.

We scope these individually, from $4,500 + GST and up, and you know the figure before any work starts.

What moves the price up or down

Whichever option you are looking at, the same handful of things move the number.

  • Pages. More pages mean more copy, more design and more structure. Extra pages beyond a package, and migrating a large blog, are quoted separately.
  • Copywriting and photography. This is the biggest difference between the two packages. If you already have good words and real photos, the Refresh uses them. If you do not, the Package creates them, and that is where most of the extra $4,000 goes.
  • Functionality. Anything a visitor logs into, pays through or books with moves the project into a custom build.
  • Brand. If the logo and colours need a tidy-up, the mini brand refresh in the Package covers it. A full rebrand is its own project, and our branding page explains what that involves.
  • Timeline. Both packages run to a fixed schedule, so the price does not change with urgency. What changes is how soon your spot comes up.

What the cheap option really costs

A $1,000 website is rarely a $1,000 decision, because the website is the foundation every other marketing dollar lands on.

Think about what happens after launch. You run some Google Ads. You post on social media. You print a brochure with the web address on it. Clients refer people, and the first thing those people do is look you up. All of that traffic arrives at the website, and if the site loads slowly, says nothing specific about who you help, cannot be ranked by Google and cannot be read by the AI assistants your customers now ask for recommendations, it leaks. The marketing budget is spent, the enquiries do not arrive, and the usual response is to spend more on marketing.

Put numbers on it. A business spending $500 a month on ads sends $6,000 a year to its website. If the site converts half as many visitors as it should, the cheap build has cost more in its first year than the gap between it and a site done properly. We see this constantly: a business spending thousands on marketing that sits on foundations which were never built to hold it.

That is why we talk about getting the foundations right before spending on marketing. A website built on the right foundations costs more on the day you buy it and less over every year you run it.

Which one do you need?

If your current pages, words and images are good and only the structure underneath is outdated, start with the 14-Day Website Refresh. If your work is better than your website and the content needs doing properly, the Future-Proof Website Package is built for exactly that. If the site has to sell, book or log people in, a custom WordPress website is the right fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a website cost in Brisbane?
A professional small business website in Brisbane costs between $4,500 and $8,500 + GST as a fixed-price package. Our 14-Day Website Refresh rebuilds an existing site of up to five pages for $4,500 + GST. The Future-Proof Website Package, which includes strategy, photography, copywriting and a custom website of up to 10 pages, is $8,500 + GST. A custom WordPress website with a shop, booking engine or members' area starts from $4,500 + GST and is quoted after a discovery call, because the functionality sets the price.
How much does a small business website cost in Australia?
Across Australia, a professionally built small business website generally lands between $3,000 and $10,000 + GST, and Brisbane sits in the same band. Below that range the quote usually covers a template with your logo added and no strategy, copywriting or SEO. Above it the site is doing something more, such as e-commerce, bookings or a large number of pages.
Why does one web designer quote $800 and another $15,000?
Because they are quoting different things. A website that brings in enquiries includes strategy, copywriting, photography, design, the build, SEO and AI search setup, measurement, a launch and a handover. Very low quotes leave most of that out, so the business ends up paying for it later, or paying for marketing that sends people to a site that cannot convert them. Always ask what is in the price before comparing two numbers.
Which website option do I need?
If your pages, words and images are already good and only the structure underneath is outdated, the 14-Day Website Refresh rebuilds what you have. If your work is better than your website and the content needs doing properly, the Future-Proof Website Package includes the strategy, photography and copywriting. If the site has to sell, book or log people in, a custom WordPress website is the right fit. If you are not sure, book a call and we will tell you which fits before any work starts.
Is the cheapest website worth it?
Rarely, because the website is the foundation every other marketing dollar lands on. If Google cannot rank it and AI assistants cannot read it, ads, social media and referrals all send people to a page that does not convert, and the business spends more on marketing to make up for it. A site built on the right foundations costs more upfront and less over the years you run it.
